Thype does not collect, transmit or share any data. Everything it does happens on your device.
What Thype stores on your device
Thype is a Thai transliteration keyboard. It converts Roman letters you type into Thai script using a dictionary and language models that ship inside the app itself. Two things are saved as you use it:
Words you have picked before
user_history.sqlite - Thype’s app container
Ranks the candidates you actually use above the ones you don’t
Entries you add in My Dictionary
user_dictionary.sqlite - The same container
So your own Roman-to-Thai spellings are available while typing
Both files are private to Thype and are removed when you delete the app. Neither is backed up to any server operated by us, because there is no server: Thype has no account system, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising or tracking SDKs of any kind.
Network access
Thype makes no network requests. The dictionary, the translation glossary and the neural language model are bundled with the app and run entirely offline. The keyboard works with the device in Airplane Mode exactly as it does otherwise.
About “Allow Full Access”
iOS asks whether to grant Thype Full Access. Thype uses that permission for one purpose: to read and write the two files above in a shared container, so that the keyboard and the Thype app see the same personal dictionary and the same history.
Thype does not use Full Access to send your keystrokes anywhere, and it cannot - it contains no networking code at all.
You may leave Full Access off. The keyboard is fully functional without it; the only difference is that words you add in the Thype app will not reach the keyboard, and the keyboard’s learned history is kept in its own separate container instead of the shared one.
Children
Thype is safe for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the date above will be revised.
